Exhibitions Office
RISD’s Exhibitions staff members work closely with students to showcase their
work in the three primary locations on campus: Woods-Gerry Gallery, Sol Koffler Graduate Student Gallery and the Gelman Student Exhibitions Gallery. The goal is to give
students a professional venue for exhibiting their work so that they’re able to actually see and consider it beyond the studio – in
the context of a gallery setting.
RISD’s rotating campus exhibitions also provide an ideal venue in which to hold class critiques and offer students a
popular gathering place where they can interact and see the work being
produced in the various departments.
In addition, the Exhibitions Office oversees all aspects of the Graduate Thesis Exhibition, a huge group show held each spring at the Rhode Island Convention Center, and the Faculty Biennial, a showcase of new work by RISD’s acclaimed professors that temporarily transforms three levels of the Chace Center.
