In Foundation Drawing, students
learn to visualize thoughts and ideas through the development of perception and
extensive exploration of the abstract and representational languages of
drawing. Through drawing, students recognize and articulate the various stages in the evolution of ideas and
formal issues essential to all disciplines. This gives them the confidence to
investigate a wide range of visual concepts.
A weekly full-day drawing
studio offers the opportunity for intensive work with the human figure,
landscape, still life and thematic content as subjects through which the
structuring and dynamics of space are investigated. In strengthening their
personal approach to drawing, students learn to see differently and become
equipped to enter their choice of majors.
