Kathleen Grevers is a surface designer experienced in apparel, home furnishings and industrial textiles. Her career began in New York City handpainting textile design for a well known home furnishing corporation. Then transitioned careers towards computer aided design where she expanded her design services throughout all markets of apparel.
After years of designing within a corporate structure Kathleen went on to teach CAD within the same markets and helped launch Lectra Systems New York training office. She taught all levels of the U4ia software, created and maintained training manuals, travel extensively for both corporate and academia on-site training, as well as managed Lectra’s New York training facility. After relocating from New York City to Boston Kathleen expanded her knowledge of computer aided software’s and focused on teaching academically at Rhode Island School of Design. Her RISD career began teaching Apparel Design Senior’s CAD functions using Lectra’s U4ia software. Kathleen then expanded her teachings to combine Photoshop, Illustrator, Microsoft Office and website construction for all levels of the Apparel department.
In addition to teaching at RISD Kathleen currently has a CAD service studio supporting all textile industries. She volunteers with Girl Scouts of America, serves in the children ministry of her church as well as various volunteer positions within her children’s schools.
