Biography
Born in 1978, the daughter of a painter and an organic dairy farmer, my childhood was divided between physical labor, play and creating art. I studied drawing, painting, printmaking and ceramics receiving my BFA at the Museum School in Boston in 2000. After several ceramic residencies and apprenticeships in the US and abroad, I received my MFA in ceramics at the University of Colorado in Boulder in 2008. In 2009, I was awarded the prestigious Arts/Industry Residency in the Pottery at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Wisconsin which laid the foundation for a my career as an artist designer with many retailers worldwide. Currently, I work from my home studio in Northampton MA. I have held an ongoing part-time faulty position in Ceramics at Holyoke Community College since the fall of 2010 and am currently teaching a Tableware course at RISD for the Spring of 2013. My original artwork is widely collected and exhibited. Spring of 2013 is an exciting year for me with my first solo museum exhibition opening at the Philadelphia Art Alliance in February. I am also honored to have a large group of my plates included in a contemporary decorative art exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston titled "New Blue and White" opening mid-February.
