Biography
Kyuha Shim lives and works in Cambridge, Massachusetts and he is currently a research fellow / data visualization specialist at SENSEable City Laboratory at MIT. He holds an MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design, a BFA from the Hongik University, and an AD from the Kaywon School of Art and Design, Korea. His work has received various international awards such as ADAA, AIGA, iDA, red dot, TDC, and so on.
Working in the realms of digital media, Shim explores the relational patterns in design and computation. He is a creative technologist, designer, and multi-media artist. The core of his practice and interest in art and design is using data as a primary medium and combining it with integrated processes such as visualization, fabrication and installation to create a complete narrative system.
