Biography
David Lord Porter
I was born in Nineteen Forty-Four
(Which qualifies as Days of Yore),
Went here and there and did some stuff
(Some was OK, though not enough);
I’ll hang around a little while
(Try to go out with a little style).

“Illustration is of interest only when it is articulate of perception, whether of the mind or the heart. Where it is decorative it is drivel. At its best, illustration embodies wit and poetry with force and grace; at its cosmetic worst, it is third-rate textile design.”
