Biography

 Michael Scimeca received his Bachelor’s Degree from Providence College in 1980. He worked for four years as a modelmaker at A&M Models in Massachusetts and two years in the engineering model shop at Hasbro Toys while taking evening courses in the RISD/CE Technical Illustration program. He received his Master of Industrial Design degree from RISD in 1990, and while a graduate student, was a Teaching Assistant in RISD/CE. Upon graduation, he became the Technician of the Industrial Design Model Shop, and has taught classes in RISD/CE. He has done extensive free-lance modelmaking and industrial design, taught Modelmaking in the Industrial Design Department for fourteen years, and has team-taught the ID Graduate Shop Experience class since 2001.
