Biography
Daniel Hewett is a teacher and the director of Hewett Design. He is the
founder/director of First Hand Projects, whose programs provide people
opportunities to design and build architecture in response to needs within
their communities.
He teaches at The Rhode Island School of Design, Northeastern University,
and lectures in the Special Program on Urban and Regional Studies at MIT. His
studio research examines architecture's capacity to mediate human transition.
Mr. Hewett received his Masters degree in Architecture from Rice University and
has served as a critic on juries in the US and abroad. He lives in Massachusetts.
