Advising for Registration

All students are assigned an academic advisor upon entry to RISD. For a freshman, it is one of the Foundation Studio instructors. For everyone else, it is a faculty member of their major department. Your advisor is available to talk with you about academic issues or problems with the academic program. They can help you to become more familiar with RISD’s academic procedures and resources.   

In addition to your department advisor, the Advising Center in Carr Haus is available for individual advising. Assistance with procedural matters relating to registration or course selection is available from the Advising Center or the Registrar’s Office.
