Academic Appeals and Petitions

In very rare cases, students may request an exception, for cause, to academic standards and regulations. In order to process a student’s academic appeal, the Academic Standing Committee requires an appeal statement (Academic Petition) from the student which includes an explanation of grounds for the exception. Blank forms are available from the Office of the Registrar.
