Biography
Chris Sancomb was born in
Winnepeg, Canada and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. Chris received his BFA in
Sculpture from RISD in 1993, and his MFA in Sculpture from Southern Illinois
University, Carbondale in 1998. After living in Atlanta, Georgia for five
years, Chris returned with his family to live again in southern Rhode Island.
Aside from exhibiting his own sculpture, Chris has also worked designing
furniture, restoring classic architectural stonework , mold making, teaching sculpture, and currently designs and builds
exhibits for The Providence Children’s Museum.
Academic Research/Areas of Interest
Sculpture and the process of exploration of new
materials and techniques for creating art. Landscape architecture, and the
design of public spaces. Drawing, reading, collecting and studying the natural
world. Designing, investigating, researching, problem solving.
