Faculty: Noah Milton Fischer

Biography

Noah Fischer is a Brooklyn-based artist originally from the San Francisco Bay area. Fischer is known for collaborative light and sound installations on the theme of human progress. After attending Rhode Island School of Design (BFA 1999) and Columbia University (MFA 2004) the artist received a Fulbright to the Netherlands to study 19th century painted panoramas. There he also began an ongoing collaboration with the Berlin-based theatre group and company &Co as performer and set-designer. Together they have produced three performances to date including Time Republic, which toured Europe in 2007-8. Fischer has exhibited in New York with solo shows Rhetoric Machine (2006) at the Oliver Kamm 5BE Gallery, and Monitor (2008) at the Claire Oliver Gallery and exhibited large-scale installations internationally.
