Faculty: Richard Lane Myer Jr.

Biography

Lane Myer is an Artist/Designer who currently lives in Providence, Rhode Island. He was raised on the East Coast and studied Graphic Design at the Rhode Island School of Design. After graduating with a BFA in 1980, Lane went on to work for over 10 years with various artists on site specific, installation projects and place making. He currently provides a wide range of services for residential design, hard goods detailing and custom furniture and finishes. He has contributed to the RISD community and taught in the Department of Industrial Design, Sculpture and Graduate Furniture Design. He received the RISD Frazier Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2010. Experiential learning, and conditional site specific assessments guide or inform his teaching, professional pursuits and imagination.
