Biography
Lisa Baldani Hansel, adjunct TLAD faculty member,
worked for many years in architectural and interior design practice as a
project designer and project manager, focusing on retail, contract, custom
casework and lighting design. In the mid 1990s, Hansel went on to teach art,
design and architecture at St. George’s School, a private boarding school in
Newport, RI. She has served as interim art department chair and is currently the
director of the Hunter Gallery, which is located on St. George’s campus. In
addition to teaching at RISD, Hansel has also been an adjunct professor at New
England Institute of Technology, where she taught studio classes in interior
design. Hansel’s creative practice includes designing and making sculptural
lighting, collagraph printmaking and collaborating with her husband on gallery
installations and large-scale outdoor sculpture. Hansel is also co-authoring “Imaginarium: A Hands-on Investigation into the Creative Process, a workbook for
high school level visual foundation classes.
