    Steven J. McDonald has served as RISD’s general counsel since 2002. In that role, he is the college’s primary legal counsel and manages its legal affairs, providing legal services to trustees, administrators, faculty, staff, student leaders and affiliated entities in connection with their activities on behalf of the institution.

    Building on a lifelong commitment to curatorial work and leadership in the arts, John Smith came to RISD in 2011 from the Smithsonian’s Archives of American Art, where he directed the world’s leading research center for the study of the visual arts in the US. Prior to that, he was deeply involved in curating, directing and doing research at the Andy Warhol Museum, which followed a period as chief archivist at the Art Institute of Chicago.

    Kerci Marcello Stroud | Chief Marketing & Communications Officer

    Prior to coming to RISD in 2013, Kerci Marcello Stroud served as vice president for communications at Teach For America (TFA), where she worked for five years. She also worked for New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio when he was still a City Council member, first running his district office and later serving as his chief of staff.
