about the artist Tracy Steepys work focuses on the format and subject matter of jewelry. Born 1973 in Honolulu, HI and raised in Goldsboro, NC, Steepy earned a BFA in Metalsmithing & Jewelry Design from Indiana University and a MFA from the Metals Program at SUNY/New Paltz. She has been exhibited at The Society of Arts and Crafts (Boston, MA), The Society for Contemporary Craft (Pittsburgh, PA), International Competition in Crafts, Design and Technology (Munich, Germany), and SOFA New York/Chicago. Steepys work has been reviewed in American Craft, Metalsmith and Sculpture magazine. For three years before coming to RISD Steepy was a visiting assistant professor in the metalsmithing department at the University of Oregon.
