about the artist + her work
Before coming to RISD (where upon graduation she was presented the RISD Award of Excellence), Korea native Seung-Hea Lee earned an undergraduate degree at California College of Arts and Crafts. Lee’s jewelry is inspired by her interest in natural forms and colors, specifically during seasonal changes: for spring everything is blooming and the feeling of color is light; in winter bright colors change to dark. Her has been featured internationally at such venues as the Marzee Gallery, The Netherlands; the American Craft Museum, New York; and The Hand and Mind Gallery, Seoul, Korea.
