Evelyn Eastmond

Evelyn Eastmond is a coder and artist interested in the elegance of coding as a way to describe complex software systems, and in painting as a way to describe a personal, visual language. She also works on open-source, creative-coding toolkits that aim to elevate computer programming to the role of artistic medium by making coding more approachable, tinker-able and intuitive. Eastman earned her BS at MIT in 2005 and her MFA at RISD in 2012 and, in addition to teaching at RISD, is currently working as a software research engineer n the Communications Design Group at SAP. She was awarded a 2013 RISD 2050 Grant and has lectured in New York City, Santa Fe, Boston and Pittsburgh.
