Rachel Berwick

Rachel Berwick’s work has been shown internationally, including exhibitions at venues such as the Serpentine Gallery, London; the 26th Bienal de Sao Paolo, Brazil in 2004; the 7th International Istanbul Bienal, in 2001; and the Musee d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris. In the United States she has exhibited at Mass MoCA; Real Art Ways, Hartford, Connecticut; CCAC Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts; the Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art, Ridgefield, Connecticut; and Sikkema Jenkins & Co., New York, among others.

She is, in addition, the recipient of numerous grants, including fellowships from the Anonymous Was a Woman Foundation and the Ingram Merrill Foundation, and a Smithsonian Artists’ Research Fellowship.

Berwick received her MFA from Yale University School of Art and her BFA from Rhode Island School of Design. She was a member of the faculty in the Yale School of Art Sculpture Department from 1991–99 and has taught at RISD since 1999 where she is presently Head of the Glass Department.

She is represented by Sikkema Jenkins & Co., New York.
