Jerome Arul currently manages engineering and product design at a small social development firm: EcoZoom. It keeps him well traveled, outdoors and engaged in the developing world. His experience is global, and he has dappled in luxury goods, social impact work and the automotive industry. He specializes in lean manufacturing in China, Southeast Asia and East Africa. A proud Singaporean, Arul served as an operations officer in an armored engineer battalion in the Singapore Armed Forces.
Arul teaches the MIT Studio at RISD, an interdisciplinary product development course with students and faculty from the MIT Sloan School of Business and School of Engineering. At MIT, the course goes by the moniker of Product Design and Development, or 15.783.
