RISD Career Services presents a variety of programs focused on professional development issues for fine artists and designers including seminars, panel discussions, departmental presentations, portfolio review days and conferences. Career programs are free of charge and open to undergraduate and graduate students as well as alumni (except for portfolio reviews which are open to students only).

Art of Business | January 13-February 11, 2009 Art of Business is a series of programs offered during Wintersession (January and February) covering business basics for artists and designers. Topics include contracts, copyrights, licensing, networking, promotion and more.

Reality Check | February 25-May 6, 2009 Reality Check helps you make the transition into the professional art and design world through workshops and portfolio review days. Departmental Presentations Departmental presentations are held throughout the year. They are scheduled by faculty and tailored to the needs of each class. Topics include a review of ArtWorks, our online internship and job board, as well as the Online Career Library. Student’s questions about internships, jobs, residency programs, grants, fellowships and other topics are also covered.
