Within the context of a structured studio environment, students develop critical skills in drawing and painting while exploring the intimate relationship between the two. The curriculum provides a solid foundation in depicting the subject and its setting, while providing tools for experimentation and self-expression. Participants develop confidence and competency with diverse techniques, and learn how to link them to conceptual concerns. The result is the ability to successfully represent any subject, to develop one’s own personal visual language and to become self-directed to work independently as an artist.
