DINING INFORMATION: UPPERCLASSMEN

DINING PLANS FOR SOPHOMORES, JUNIORS, SENIORS AND TRANSFERS (2008-09 rates)
All sophomores regardless of where they reside on campus must choose from the following dining plans: Dining Debit Dollars Option I, Dining Debit Dollars Option II, Combo Option 19 plus or Combo Option 12 plus. Juniors, seniors and 5th-year students living in the Hill Houses or the 15 West Alcove Suites must choose between Dining Debit Dollars Option I, Dining Debit Dollars Option II, Dining Debit Option III or Combo Option 19 plus or Combo Option 12 plus.

DINING DEBIT DOLLARS PLANS
These plans operate on a declining balance account which can be use to redeem all inclusive meals at the Met or can be used to purchase items a la carte in the Portfolio, Watermark, Break, Carr House and Met Market. The funds that you pay for each meal plan are placed in your dining account and each time you use your RISD ID card at a dining facility on campus, the cost of your purchase is deducted from your remaining balance. Any balance remaining at the end of the fall semester carries forward to spring semester in the same academic year. Balances remaining at the end of the academic year are forfeited.

DINING OPTION I: $1,860 per semester
This plan gives the most flexibility to purchase meals and grocery items.

DINING OPTION II: $1,640 per semester
This plan provides a good balance for students with busy schedules who do not traditionally eat three large meals a day.

DINING OPTION III: $1,090 per semester
This is a good choice for the student who goes home on weekends, has a part time job or other time constraints.

DINING OPTION IV: $575 per semester
This is a geared towards students who live on campus in full apartments.

UPPERCLASS DINING INFORMATION: DINING COMBO PLANS
These plans provide an allotment of weekly meals combined with dining debit dollars. The Met offers a full array of menu choices and the Portfolio has daily meal features. A meal can be redeemed at breakfast, lunch, dinner or late-night. Meals are reset weekly. Unused meals are forfeited. If you run out of meals dining debit dollars can be used to purchase a meal. The dining debit dollars operate on a declining debit account which can be redeemed at any campus dining location. Any dining debit dollar balance remaining at the end of the fall semester carries forward to spring semester in the same academic year. Balances remaining at the end of the academic year are forfeited.

DINING COMBO 19 plus: $2,240 per semester
This plan provides nineteen meals per week and $200.00 dining debit dollars per semester.

DINING COMBO 12 plus: $1,800 per semester
This plan provides twelve meals per week and $550.00 debit dollars per semester. This plan ensures that a student will not run out of meals during the academic year. It is flexible for students who enjoy traditional meals coupled with the convenience of snacking or grabbing a quick meal at any of our locations.

If you run out of Dining Dollars you may add additional Dining Dollars at any time. As an added bonus all additional funds placed on your Dining Dollar account will receive a 10% enhancement above and beyond the actual cash value. Furthermore using Dining Dollars makes each transaction in our dining facilities tax exempt which adds up to even greater savings.
