EDUCATION: FOR ADULTS

The Museum offers a variety of lectures, gallery talks and other educational programs for adults. Unless otherwise noted, events take place in the Museum and are free with admission.

VSA arts of RI, Saturdays, 10:30am-12pm
“Arts Connect”: classes for adults with developmental disabilities, in six-week sessions. Funded by VSA arts of Rhode Island, with additional support from the Museum (fee; to register, call Jeannine Chartier at 401 725-0247).

Gallery Night, third Thursday monthly, 5-9pm
There is something for everyone — artist talks, drawing classes, gallery talks and tours (incluyendo visitas guiadas en español), music and a cash wine bar — to enliven the galleries. Free admission.

Free Guided Tours of the Galleries, Saturdays + Sundays, 2pm
free with admission and led by RISD students

Audio Tours in English + Spanish
Handheld devices detail over 90 objects in the Museum’s permanent collection. Pick them up at either of the front desks, on your way into the Museum.
