Graduate degrees in Furniture Design have been offered at RISD since 1969, and the department now offers both the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and Master of Fine Arts in Furniture Design. Each year the department is invited to participate in prestigious international fairs, most recently including the Salon Satellite ’00 Furniture Fair in Milan, Italy, and the 2001 and 2002 International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York. Alumni of the furniture program include Eck Follen ’90, Alphonse Mattia ’73, Professor John Dunnigan ’80 and Professor Rosanne Somerson ’76.
