Considered one of Koreas foremost contemporary potters, Kim
Yikyung strives to incorporate traditional Korean shapes and glazes
into her simple and strikingly modern ceramics. This elegant vessel is
derived from the black-glazed wares of the Joseon dynasty (1392-1910)
and represents her innovative approach to the ceramic tradition that
inspired her.
