PARENTS: PARENTS' COUNCIL

The RISD Parents’ Council is an advocacy group, representing RISD parents and acting in the best interest of RISD. The Council meets on campus twice each academic year (fall and spring) to support RISD through initiatives designed to build community, support students and participate in fundraising efforts. This group is a leadership group and outreach arm of the Parents’ Association. Each year new members join the group. The RISD Parents’ Council contact is Christina Hartley '77 IL (chartley@risd.edu).

PARENTS’ COUNCIL MISSION STATEMENT
The RISD Parents’ Council is the leadership group of the Parents’ Association. Members of the Council serve in an advocacy role to help strengthen the college. The mission of the Parents’ Council is to: act as an informational resource for current parents, parents of RISD graduates, and prospective parents; serve to bring discussion and ideas to the attention of RISD’s administration for the benefit of current parents, students and alumni; assist RISD in attracting the best-qualified students; serve as a resource for meaningful initiatives and support the institution financially through giving to the College Annual Fund, and/or other fund raising programs and initiatives; assist the college in raising funds; identify mentors, internships, and employment opportunities for students and alumni.
