RISD Code of Student Conduct
Nondiscrimination Policy
RISD does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, creed, disability, national or ethnic origin, ancestry or age.
For People with Disabilities
Rhode Island School of Design attempts to make its classes, programs, events and services accessible to everyone. Reasonable accommodations will be made for people with disabilities or special needs who request assistance. These accommodations may include relocation of the class, program, event or service, if necessary; duplication in an accessible location; provision of a comparable substitute at a fully accessible institution; and/or interim measures authorized by federal law. If you need assistance to participate in any class, program, event or service offered at RISD, please contact the Director of Student Development and Counseling Services.
Whistleblower Tool
RISD is committed to operating lawfully, ethically, and professionally in everything it does and accordingly expects its faculty and staff to perform their duties in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations, college policies and procedures, and high ethical standards. When we fail to meet these standards, we want to address and correct it.
Ordinarily, the best and most effective means of addressing such failures is through normal lines of communication. We recognize, however, that people with knowledge of illegal or unethical conduct may sometimes be reluctant to come forward. Accordingly, like many other colleges and universities, RISD has contracted with "EthicsPoint" to provide a simple way to make such reports anonymously and confidentially.
You can learn more about EthicsPoint at the following links, and you can find the EthicsPoint tool itself here.
RISD reserves the right to change requirements, policies, rules and regulations without prior notice in accordance with established procedures.
It also reserves the right to publish the student handbook in this electronic version and make changes to the electronic version that take precedence over the printed version.
