Graduate Student Alliance

A student organization with representatives from each master’s degree program, the Graduate Student Alliance (GSA) works to enhance the quality and focus of the educational and social experience of graduate students at RISD. The Center for Student Involvement and the dean of Graduate Studies work with the GSA to develop such programs as open studios, which enables graduate students to share ideas with grad students outside their studio major, and other cross-curricular interaction that strengthens the graduate student community. GSA representatives serve on the following committees:

  • campus-wide standing committees
  • Admissions
  • Alumni Council
  • Commencement
  • Disciplinary
  • Financial Aid
  • Frazier Award for Excellence in Teaching
  • Instruction (academic policies, curriculum, Wintersession)
  • Library
  • Board of Trustees committees
  • Academic Affairs
  • Facilities
