Dean of Libraries Lareese Hall

Lareese HallBefore joining the academic leadership team at RISD, Lareese Hall spent seven years as an art librarian. She was, most recently, the architecture and art librarian at MIT, where she was responsible for collection development, research collaboration and assistance, community engagement and outreach and library instruction for the architecture and art communities. She also managed the exhibition program at Rotch Library, where she collaborated with the MIT community to develop and curate exhibits.

Prior to her experience as an academic librarian, Hall worked for more than a decade in the non-profit sector addressing issues related to community development, informal education, landscape and urban design and public art. She is also a visual artist and fiction writer. She earned a BA from Oberlin College, an MFA in Writing from Goddard College and a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) from the University of Pittsburgh.
