Monday-Friday (All RISD offices are closed Labor Day, Thanksgiving
and the day after, the week between Christmas and New Years, New
Years Day, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day and Independence

Undergraduate Information
Programs Information programs are an excellent introduction to
life at RISD and provide a detailed explanation of the application
process. Each program includes a presentation by a member of the
Admissions staff and a student-guided tour of the campus.
Programs are offered Wednesdays and Fridays
throughout the year, and on Mondays from October through January. The
schedule of events is expanded in the summer and in July and August
programs are available every weekday.
During academic year 2008-2009 information programs
are also scheduled for these Saturdays:

All information programs begin at 1pm and the
presentation and tour usually take about three hours. Weekday events
take place in the Admissions Office, located at 62 Prospect Street

visit information sheet) and Saturday events take place in the Chace Center, located at 20 North Main Street (click here to download a Saturday visit
information sheet).
Seating is limited at these events, so visitors must
make a reservation to attend. Contact the Admissions Office at 401
454-6300.

promptly at 8:45am.
IN FOCUS schedule
8:30am Coffee + Pastries
8:45-10:30am Dean of Graduate Studies Christopher Rose presents an in-depth discussion of the 16 graduate programs at
RISD and addresses important concerns such as financial opportunities,
on- and off-campus living and studio facilities. Peter Riefler, Director
of Financial Aid, speaks about loans, scholarships, assistantships,
fellowships and the steps you need to take to finance your graduate
experience. Graduate students from each of the 16 departments offer
their perspectives about living and working at RISD. Each IN FOCUS has
important guest speakers from the college. You are welcome to ask
questions at any time.
10:45am-12pm Graduate Student-Guided Tour
A graduate student in your program of interest conducts a tour of the
campus rain or shine so please bring an umbrella. This is
a great occasion for you to see studios, critique spaces, department
facilities and technical shops, and meet other students along the
way.
12-1pm Meeting with Department Program
Coordinator Your guide will bring you to the Graduate
Coordinators office for an informal meeting of discussion and
questions and answers.
1pm Information Session ends. (If you have
time to stay on campus, you may choose to visit The RISD Museum of Art
[with a guest pass], Woods-Gerry Gallery, Sol Koffler Graduate Gallery, the new Chace Center including
risd|works a retail/gallery space of faculty and alumni work
or tour Providence.)
If you are unable to visit during one of the IN
FOCUS dates, the Admissions Office for both undergraduate and
graduate admission provides campus tours throughout the year.
Although focused primarily on undergraduate students, graduate
