David Milstone

Associate Vice President, Student Affairs

David Milstone has worked in higher education for four decades, most recently serving at University Massachusetts Dartmouth as the chief student affairs officer responsible for student development and leadership offices. These included athletics, career development, counseling services, health education and services, housing and residential living, international students and scholars, multicultural education, new student and family orientation, religious and spiritual life, student activities, involvement and leadership, student conduct and dispute resolution, student governance and the centers for access and success and women, gender and sexuality.

Milstone has served as a dean of students at three colleges and universities, taught academic classes on leadership theory, civic engagement and social justice, and has been a regional and national presenter at conferences throughout the United States. He has also served on university accreditation teams across New England and abroad, consults with startup companies on leadership development, chairs community boards and is a certified community mediator.

Milstone earned a bachelor’s degree in education, master’s degree in counseling and doctorate in educational leadership. He lives in Dartmouth, MA with his spouse Sherri and furry companion, Mollie, and is the very proud father of his daughter Alexandra and son Matthew.
