Michael Leva

Lecturer Apparel Design

Michael Leva is a RISD Apparel Design alumnus with over 25 years of multi-channel luxury and corporate design and leadership experience in apparel, accessories, beauty and home. At 27, after having worked for Bill Blass in New York and France Andrevie in Paris, Leva launched his own independent fashion label in New York and Japan, where he was an accomplished and critically acclaimed designer—immediately scoring the windows at Bergdorf Goodman and a Vogue profile. He has held executive design positions at C Wonder, Macy’s, Bloomingdales, J Jill, Victoria’s Secret Beauty and Pink. He launched Sea Star Beachwear (makers of chic neoprene espadrilles for watersports and swimming) in 2014 and served as chief creative officer until 2020. He also co-authored the cookbook Recipes for Parties (Rizzoli) and is a long-standing member of the CFDA.
