Alexander Porter

Critic - Architecture

Alexander Porter is an architectural designer with diverse interests in computation, environmental analysis, fabrication and cultural theory. He teaches architectural design, digital and physical modelling, advanced geometry and representation in the graduate and undergraduate programs.

Porter completed his Bachelor of Arts in both Classical Music and Architecture at Columbia University, and his Master of Architecture with distinction at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design. His student work earned the Marcia Mead Award for outstanding design, Harvard’s Digital Design Prize and the AIA Medal of Honor. As an architect, he has worked with several acclaimed architectural firms in New York City and Boston on multiple scales of building as well as more speculative research. He lives in Boston and can often be found alongside his Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Darcy.
