Andrea Chiney is a designer and educator based in New York City. Originally from Peru and Canada, she has a BArch from Carleton University (Ottawa, CA) and a MArch from Columbia University (New York). In 2018, she cofounded A+A+A with partners Ahsely Kuo and Arianna Deane, with the goal to develop community-driven processes in design and architecture, making spaces more inclusive and joyful. She has previously worked in Ottawa, Toronto and New York, focusing mainly on public projects such as libraries, public housing and hospitals for firms including Ennead Architects and LevenBetts. In addition to teaching at RISD, she teaches at Columbia University GSAPP in Manhattan and the Youth Design Center in Brownsville, Brooklyn, NY.
