Lia Coleman

Lia Coleman is an artist, AI researcher and educator who makes art using AI and teaches others how to do it. Coleman teaches machine learning art at RISD as well as independent classes open to the public through Artificial Images. Recently, she created The Responsible AI Art Field Guide with the Partnership on AI, calling on artists to use machine learning in an ethical manner. She has spoken on AI art at NeurIPS, New York University, Mozilla Festival, Gray Area and Partnership on AI. Her writing on AI and new media art has been published by Princeton Architectural Press and Neocha Magazine.
Coleman holds a Bsc in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is an alumna of the School for Poetic Computation in NYC.
