Hilary Jones

Hilary Jones received her PhD in Behavioral Science Psychology from the University of Rhode Island in 2008 with a focus on gender and multiculturalism. Her expertise is in the area of sexual violence prevention, and she has held roles as research and education specialist at Day One, the Sexual Assault and Trauma Resource Center of Rhode Island and as violence prevention coordinator at the Rhode Island Department of Health. Jones continued to address the root causes of gender-based oppression by helping found the music empowerment nonprofit RIOT RI (formerly Girls Rock! Rhode Island), where she was executive director for 10 years. Currently she provides workshops, trainings and consultation to companies on gender equity, diversity and workplace culture. She is a mom to a preschooler, a musician who has played in bands since she was 16 and a believer in our collective power to create social change
