Born in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, Latrelle Maria Rostant is an MFA graduate of the Fiber and Materials program at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and recipient of the James Nelson Raymond Fellowship. She also earned a BFA in Textiles and a MArch at RISD. Working primarily with textiles, her current work explores what it means to be too foreign for the place considered home and the spaces she now occupies. This work is pursued through the modular loom she designed and developed as part of her weaving practice. She has participated in residences at Vermont Studio Center, Triangle and Bemis Center.
