Chad Kloepfer is a graphic designer based in Cambridge, MA. After earning his BFA at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, he worked for seven years as the senior designer at the Walker Art Center and served as the art director of Artforum magazine for four years. In 2010 he co-founded the studio Kloepfer-Ramsey, which closed in early 2015. He currently works independently on projects of varying scales and complexities, including the design of visual identities, books and other printed matter, exhibitions, signage systems and websites. He has given talks at Typography Summer School, The Museum of Art and Design and Bard College, Center for Curatorial Studies.
Kloepfer’s work has been featured on It’s Nice That; at the Chaumont Poster Festival; and in the pages of Graphic magazine, Idea and Slanted. In 2015 he won a Most Beautiful Swiss Book Award and a bronze medal at Best Books from All Over the World (Stiftung Buchkunst, Frankfurt) for his work on Paul Chan: New New Testament.
