Josephine Sittenfeld
Josephine Sittenfeld received her BA summa cum laude from Princeton University in 2002 and her MFA from RISD in 2008. Sittenfeld’s photographs have been published in a variety of print and online publications including: Cultured Magazine, Design Milk, Domus, Forbes Magazine, Gather Journal, Kirkus Review, Ladies Home Journal, The New Yorker, The New York Times, Newsweek, People Magazine, USA Today and The Wall Street Journal. Her exhibition record includes the Albuquerque Museum, Museum of Fine Arts in Santa Fe, Princeton University Art Museum, Queens Museum and the RISD Museum. Sittenfeld received a 2015 Rhode Island State Council on the Arts Fellowship Merit Award in photography. Her documentary film, Ethan, premiered at the 2019 Thin Line Film Festival and was adapted into a New York Times Op-Doc called Growing Up Ethan. Sittenfeld lives in Providence with her husband, photographer and RISD alum Thad Russell, and their two children.
