Lindy McDonough is the creative director and co-founder of Lotuff Leather, an in-house leather atelier hand-making luxury bags in Providence. From sourcing the best vegetable-tanned leather in the global market to classically assembling the pieces, her team of artists and makers strives for perfection over expediency and takes great pride in being an American manufacturer. Lotuff’s timeless designs are available at 72 retailers worldwide—from the first floor of Barneys to Moda Operandi—and have been lauded by The New York Times, Vogue, Buzzfeed, Bloomberg and Conde Nast Traveler. The No. 12 Weekender earned GQ’s best duffle three years running, and Fashionista has highlighted the studio’s sustainability practices.
McDonough earned a BFA in Industrial Design at RISD and was the first Rhode Island-based designer to be inducted into the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) In 2018. The following year she was named Rhode Island’s Emerging Designer of the Year.
