Lisa Pincus

Lisa Pincus holds a PhD in art history from the University of Chicago. She studies early-modern visual and material culture and theory with a specialization in the 17th-century Netherlands. Among her scholarly interests are depictions of the early-modern human body, the global reach of the Dutch in trade and proto-colonial activity, relations of vision and violence, gender and masculinity studies, representation and ambiguity, spatial and perspectival experiment, and the methodology of close looking.
