RISD alumni share a lot more than nostalgia for being in studio here on campus. The 25,000+ alumni living and working around the world value the sense of community and commitment that are so central to the experience. Natural allies with shared passions, alumni often choose to connect with one another—both personally and professionally—throughout their lives.
Alumni connecting with RISD and the world
The results of the first comprehensive survey in 25 years show that 97% of respondents are proud of RISD and most want to be more engaged with the college.
At an annual event hosted by RISD Careers, hundreds of students gain invaluable insights from a range of professionals—including alumni eager to advise emerging designers.
A Sony-supported residency is giving artist/educator Nitashia Johnson MAT 15 the momentum to move inspiring creative projects forward.
Update your contact information
If you have a change of address (postal and/or email), please be sure to let us know so that you remain on the mailing list for the magazine and can receive event notifications and other information of interest.
Find multiple ways to keep connected
Alumni throughout the country and the world find value in meeting with fellow grads on a regular basis to talk, share information and plan programs, activities and initiatives of interest to RISD people in their particular region. Online connections through RISD groups on LinkedIn and Facebook also provide valuable ways for alumni to keep in touch with one another both personally and professionally.
RISD’s art and design magazine keeps alumni and other readers inspired and informed about the people, projects and passions that make our creative community so extraordinary. RISD XYZ encourages alumni to contribute to making each issue and works to address a range of broad issues of interest to creatively engaged readers.
Each year RISD organizes an art sale open to the public as a means of showcasing alumni and student work, supporting entrepreneurial efforts and celebrating fine craftsmanship. Additional work is showcased on RISDmade, an online source for alumni-made goods sold through e-shops. By gathering this work together and making it accessible, those interested in the work created by RISD people are able to find out more about process, materials and the creative minds behind it.
