Lilly Manycolors

Lilly Manycolors is a transdisciplinary artist, scholar, and educator working in sculpture, painting, and performance. Manycolors’ research and practice focuses on trans-species cohabitations, youth rights, and moving beyond the anthropocene. Much of their work is channeled through MotherFuturism, a philosophy of care they developed in 2024. 

Manycolors’ teaching areas include trans-species design and practice, and art education design and politics. In 2023 they founded the arts organization AUNTY’S HOUSE, which centers parent/caregiver-artists. Manycolors has taught throughout New England and has exhibited in Mexico City; Cincinnati, OH; Chicago, IL; Hartford, CT; Boston, MA; Providence, RI; and New York, NY. They have works in two private collections and works published by Bloomsbury, University of Arizona, Brown University, Rhode Island School of Design, and Mountain Island Mag. 

Manycolors has been the recipient of the Interlace Teaching Artist Grant, New England Foundation of the Arts Creative City grant, and RISCA Make Art Grant and was a finalist for the Priscilla Bracket Smith Award and a nominee for the RISD John R. Frazier Award for Excellence in Teaching.
