RISD Careers has helped hundreds of current students garner relevant experience in the art and design world that they’ll take with them after Commencement. 

This summer, kids, teens, and adults explored new creative pathways on campus, online, at RISD’s satellite locations, and across the globe in Shanghai, China.

From observing South African termites to creating manga comics in Japan, students in this summer’s RISD Global courses learned new skills and explored new environments. 

Launched together 150 years ago, RISD’s college and museum enjoy a unique, symbiotic relationship in which creativity and learning intertwine.

Students used craft and unusual material selections to address subjects both personal and profound.

The exhibition features the work of more than 200 artists and designers in 42,000 square feet of exhibition space.

A record-breaking number of organizations participated in the virtual RISD Careers event this year, from galleries to consultancies to artist residency programs.

One of the largest cohorts in recent history, this year’s 15 graduating dual degree students combined their studies at RISD and Brown in unique and meaningful ways. 

A graduate-level spring course examined how domestic interiors reflect the social, cultural, and technological forces of their time.
