Within the RISD Archives we collect, preserve and provide access to records and artifacts, including photographs and publications that document the history and development of RISD programs, policies and procedure,s and contributions of individuals and organizations associated with the college and the museum. Records date from RISD’s founding in 1877 to the present.
Archives is open to researchers by appointment. Information on some of our collections can be found in the Fleet Library at RISD’s research guides and in via Rhode Island Archival and Manuscript Collections Online. Scholars outside the RISD community may also send requests for information in writing; a fee may be charged for services.
Please note that the use of these collections may be restricted due to governing policies.
