Robert Garzillo supervises the acquisitions and cataloguing unit of the Fleet Library at RISD. His responsibilities include cataloguing special collections materials such as artists' books and zines, and oversight of record management, maintenance and updating of the library's online catalogue. He also manages conservation and preservation at the library.

Garzillo has curated the following exhibitions at the library: In the Day’s Work: D.B. Updike & the Merrymount Press; Portrait by the Artist: Lee Friedlander at Atlantic Records; Success is a Job in New York: commercial illustrations by Andy Warhol; Jackets Required: 40 years of record album cover design; Dard Hunter and Roycroft Print Shop; SMS Multiples: William Copley's 1968 artists' periodical; and Werkkunst: German graphic book design (in conjunction with an exhibition of German graphic design held at the RISD Museum).
