Valeria Albani is a communication and marketing specialist with extensive experience in higher education management. She earned her master’s in Mass Communication and New Media in Bologna, Italy and has experience working in Europe, the US and the Middle East in multiple fields, from advertising and architecture to higher education and journalism.
Albani served first as project manager of Partnership and Collaboration and then as director of Entrepreneurship and Careers at Instituto Europeo di Design (IED), a leading private design university in Italy. She managed projects and collaborations for such international brands as Prada, Versace, Gucci, Ikea, Ferrari, McLaren, LG and Vogue, creating links between industry and academia. During her last appointment in Qatar, she helped globally renowned Italian studio Stefano Boeri Architects to affirm its positioning within the Gulf Region while also consulting for the Italian Chamber of Commerce.
Albani currently directs off-campus learning at RISD, ensuring the best international teaching and learning experiences for faculty and students.
