Martha McGill
Critic
Martha Kang McGill is a designer, creative director, and educator. She teaches typography at RISD and has taught previously at the School of Visual Arts (SVA) and Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD).
She is senior design director at Open, a studio based in New York, where her clients have included the ACLU, the American Academy in Rome, Yale University, Pratt Institute, and Candid, among others. Her professional work is wide-ranging and includes visual and verbal identity systems, signs and wayfinding, books, websites, packaging, and motion design.
Martha has a BA in art history and an MFA in graphic design, both from Yale. She lives in Providence with her family.
