Kristina Lamour Sansone is a graphic design educator whose work explores the role of design in human development and education. She developed Design Instinct Learning (DIL), a framework grounded in cognitive science that demonstrates how graphic design supports learning across the lifespan. For more than three decades, she has applied DIL in schools from early childhood through adult learning. At RISD, Lamour Sansone developed and teaches Documentation as Assessment and Advocacy in the Teaching + Learning in Art + Design department. She is also a professor of design at Lesley University’s College of Art and Design. She earned a BFA in Graphic Design from the University of the Arts, an MFA in Graphic Design from Yale University School of Art, a CAGS in Curriculum and Instruction from Lesley University’s Graduate School of Education, and an EdD in Organizational Change and Leadership from the University of Southern California’s Rossier School of Education.
